Hey, Jim --

Apologies if I've asked this before, but I've been spending time recently re-reading a bunch of my favorite old TSR classic rulebooks. Chainmail, OD&D, Boot Hill, Warriors of Mars ... these were all done in a pamphlet-sized rulebook. (As were other miniatures rules sets of the era such as Tricolor, Don't Give Up the Ship, Tractics, Cavaliers & Roundheads, and so on.)

Why was METAMORPHOSIS ALPHA done in a large-sized book instead of a pamphlet size?
